If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all…Or not?

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all…Or not?

We have all heard the old saying, “ If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all,” right? Well, that’s only partially true. Why? Let me explain.

All too often when we adhere to this old adage, what we are really saying is that it is ok to think those unkind thoughts so long as we don’t actually say them out loud and that’s where this saying falls short.

Recall Bullshift Number Four: Your thoughts, feelings, and intentions have no impact on your present reality.

Turns out, this is completely inverse to the universal laws of nature. In fact, your present reality is precisely the result of your past thinking. That’s right. Take that in again. Your present reality is the precisely the result of all of your past thoughts.

We are all led to believe that thoughts occur only in our heads and remain in our heads, right? You have thoughts, and you inevitably believe that these thoughts remain confidential to you, and you alone. You probably believe that your thoughts remain in a sacred, hidden place under lock and key, that they are accessible to no one. At least I know I did. I had always believed that if my actions on the outside were kind, then it mattered little what the thoughts I had going on in the inside were. News flash: this is absolutely not true. And when I realized this, another door opened for me, a door that had previously been bolted shut.

And so it is with Universal Truth 4 which tell us that thoughts become things.

You see, before human beings form spoken words, we first must have thoughts. But have you ever considered the origin and source of your thoughts?

Let’s explore this for a moment. Most people believe that thoughts begin and end in our heads. But thoughts in their finest state, their state of origin, first begin as waves of energy and information, just like everything else in the entire universe, including everything you perceive as physical. Turns out, there is nothing really physical about anything at all. Everything we can see, touch, hear, taste, and smell is made out of atoms. But atoms are not really matter in the way we have been led to believe they are. At the subatomic level, quantum theory tells us that when an atom is broken down, again and again, the result is nothing but probability waves of energy and information.

And so it is with our thoughts. As mentioned, thoughts are waves of energy that are eventually translated into linguistic form. In this sense, once these waves of energy are translated into words, they become thoughts as we know and experience them in our head.

Now, I am sure you might be wondering why any of this even matters. And the answer has to do with understanding how thoughts actually become things and how our present reality is a reflection of our past thinking. Let’s ask ourselves what happens to these waves of energy after we experience them as spoken language in our minds? Do the waves collect themselves in some type of holding box in our minds and stay there? The answer is obviously no. These waves of energy continue to interact with the other waves of energy that permeate our entire universe. And as the universal laws dictate, the quality of our thoughts attract situations, circumstances, people and things that vibrate at the same quality of our thoughts which ultimately manifests into our reality. In other words, thoughts are the cause, and reality is effect.

Whoa. That’s kind of a big deal, isn’t it? Once we understand this universal principle, we begin to see how this can work both for us, and against us. Think back to your own life for a moment. Think about something that didn’t go right for you at one time, or that you are struggling with right now perhaps. And now ask yourself how often you think about this negative event? I’ll bet if you are brutally honest with yourself that you will see a clear pattern between your thoughts regarding this circumstance and its manifestation in your life, right?

And so it is with virtually everything in your life! And when I realized this, it was one of the most profound things I ever learned and it may have been the single most important key for me in shifting my life and living a life more abundantly than I ever thought possible, and I know it can be for you, too!

So join me next time on Talking Shift where we will take a deep dive into our 5th and final bullshift and replace that with the last of the universal truths.

Until next time my friends.

Sending much love and gratitude from me to you.
